Jyte should let the author of a claim edit its description after being published, if the edits are agreed upon by all/a certain amount of voters.

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've had to post a comment with a last-minute thought I forgot to put in after I hit "Publish Changes."

The description talks about comments, which are a different beast. For one thing, remember that a claim's text is tied to its URL, so changing it could break stuff. There's probably a redirect solution that could make everybody happy, though, except for the original voters.
It's really just simpler to make an inspired claim and point to it in the comments of the original one.
Note also that advanced claim relationships would help here.
