Crab spiders are ambush predators so they blend in with the flower and wait for a pollenator to come to them. Many people have a hard time seeing the spider because they are so good at it.
I guess my rationale was that, in order to survive, this bug must find nectar. This activity involves a certain level of risk, so in order to live and enjoy life, you must accept the fact that you could be the next random victim.
